Plentiful Harvest--by Kimberly B. Southall

A harvest is a crop which needs to be gathered while there is still time. And it takes a great deal of work to gather a large harvest. Did you know that Jesus compares people to a harvest? Jesus said:
"The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." (Matthew 9:37-38 and Luke 10:2 NIV)
What did Jesus mean when He said this? There are many, many people who still haven't learned about Jesus and salvation, and there are not enough people working to tell them. Isn't that sad? Wouldn't it be awful if you didn't know about Jesus and there wasn't anyone to tell you about Him? That is why we must all work to make sure everyone knows about Jesus and how they can be saved.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9 NIV)
Work in God's harvest field, pray for Him to send more workers to help, and never give up! The harvest is plentiful!
